Freedom T-shirt

A soft cotton T-shirt, hand-embroidered by the women of Gaza. This unique design is inspired by the traditional Keffiyeh, which consists of three main patterns: bold lines, olive leaves, and fishnets.

In this design, Rasha reinterprets these elements through Tatreez embroidery. The fishnet, symbolizing Palestine’s deep connection to the sea, and the olive leaves, a sign of peace and endurance, are intricately embroidered. The olive leaves transform into flying doves, symbolizing freedom and hope. The bold lines, representing historic trade routes, are crafted using the Reesh (ريش) – Feathers pattern, a motif shared across all Palestinian regions.
